Building tech for a better society
We believe that liberty requires privacy and transparency; we build neat software that delivers against these principles.

We're privacy geeks that believe business should give way more than it takes.

01
Radical Transparency

We should be open about everything we can be without compromising team or customer privacy.

02
Human-First

Tech should be accessible, inclusive, and prioritize broader society and human interests over capital gains.

03
Leave It Better

Build things that matter and make our universe better; build thoughtfully and responsibly.

A team consistently ahead of the curve

our work
01
App Permissions

Our founders introduced one of the first Play Store apps (2013/14) to check and block rogue app permissions (why does your flashlight app need SMS and GPS access?); months later the same functionality was added natively to iOS and Android ecosystems.

02
Self-Deleting Messages

Our founders built Chadder - a messaging app that truly secured messages end-to-end and let either party revoke messages, well before Snapchat had its disappearing messages (or trouble with the FTC over false claims therein).

03
Social Privacy Controls

An early social platform, Totem, was built for gaming communities and offered privacy controls over every aspect of user profiles and their data - years before it became the norm on modern social media or GDPR.

04
End of Life

Our first product (now retired), Adieuu, was free forever and allowed users to save messages and setup automated actions (such as closing accounts or transfering ownership) in case of emergency or death. Previously a taboo topic, many major services and ecosystems now handle this natively.

05
Human-Focused Policy

Equal is a modern, ad-free social network that sets itself apart through its exclusivity to Humans, its core privacy and security focus, and its use of user-enacted policy site-wide. Originally slated to launch in late 2025, we've recently adapted the product to more immediately address privacy issues around chat, social media, and concerns over age verification and identification. Launching open beta in mid 2026; more details coming soon.

That's a bit about our passion projects, but who are we?
