We do not publish a warrant canary for Belgium. That is because the law there does not allow the kind of statement a canary makes, not because this page is being used as a warning.
Why there is no canary
Due to local regulations regarding telecommunications and national security, we are legally prohibited from publishing the existence or non-existence of secret government data requests in this jurisdiction.
Relevant governing legislation includes the Organic Law of the Intelligence and Security Services (1998). Chapter IV (Secrecy): Mandates absolute secrecy for all persons providing assistance to the State Security Service (VSSE) or General Intelligence and Security Service (SGRS). If an executive is served a secret data request, they are legally bound to absolute secrecy; using a canary drop as a workaround is treated as a breach of state secrets
